[stylespace] The Tribal Cardigan Makes a Comeback!

Hello there!

It’s a lovely Tuesday and I wanted to share a new way to work with the tribal cardigan I featured here!

It was such a beautiful day, perfect to break out my summer uniform of a white tee and jeans. 🙂

If you didn’t know, I’ve been absolutely adoring this statement necklace!

It’s “The One” if there ever was one for statement pieces, and so many people (friends and strangers alike)  on the street have told me they love it as well!

Kinda cool, kinda throws you off when you walk down the street not expecting to be stopped haha.

Mostly cool though. 🙂

Love love love the brown boots as well!

They’re so versatile, and I’ve been wearing them around aaaaall weekend.

I also showed them in this haul, if you want to stop by 🙂

Hehe a few unexpected photos were taken at this moment in time.

Me: “Hey! Are you taking pictures?”

Other: “he…he..he… :)”

I hope you enjoyed this style snack, and have a lovely day!

Well, howdy!

It’s been a while since the last [stylespace] post, and I am thrilled to be able to share this one with you!

It reminds me of… a chic western persona with a penchant for dark, moody colors.

Although come to think of it, I have never conjured up that kind of character before. In my life.

So here is an eclectic outfit, just for you!

As you can see, the makeup was simple so as to not detract attention from the outfit. There is a little video coming up for it (at some point) in the future, so stay tuned! : )

Adore this necklace. It actually broke pretty quickly, which I fixed in this post  and this video if you want to check it out! Isn’t it a beaut?

I paired the casual chambray top (sleeves folded for a more relaxed, jaunty feel) and kept it simple with burgundy jeans.

Add some pizzazz with some leopard flats (a wardrobe staple for me!) and I’m out the door!

I hope you enjoyed, and have a lovely day in the Lord!

Love,

Jess

So for the past two seasons, I’ve been looking for a tribal print cardigan that would  add interest to my outfit, but wouldn’t be so out there that I could only wear it with, say, a white or black shirt.

And for months, I kept my eye out in stores. Admittedly, I did not shop very much, but I walked out wondering when the day would come when I met this cardigan.

Some were too big, others too thick,

a few prints too bold, and many too plain.

I guess you could call me a shopper with high standards. Definitely good for my wallet!

And then one day, I chanced upon a relatively secluded area of the mall. I walked in and absentmindedly browsed through the racks. You see, Cinnabon was on my mind and my mouth watered thinking of what was to follow.

That is, until I saw this cardigan. It was jauntily lounging on a hanging rack, saying, “I know you’ve been looking for me, and here I am!”

I could hardly believe it – the muted tan color, a neutral even more balanced out by the black contrast, made my tribal-print-cardigan-heart flutter. The thicker “lining” of black provided such a great frame when I tried it on, and the price point definitely did not hurt my wallet at all! Well, it did to some extent, obviously – otherwise, I would have been arrested for shoplifting.

Have been living in this cardigan for the past few days, and am loving it!

Clearly.

Paired with a light tee on a warm day, and ideal to layer with my fall&winter anorak.

Complementing outfits both casual and slightly fancy schmancy, this cardigan is a WIN for me.

“Good things come to those who wait” is not necessarily true all of the time, but I’m thankful it worked out this time.

Have a lovely day that the Lord has made!

[thoughtspace] beginnings and ends

thoughtspace

Growing up, I immersed myself in fairy tales and myths – any fiction in general, really. I still dabble in reading those stories sometimes, actually. The words “once upon a time” instantly drew my attention, while “the end” typically involved a moment of reflecting on the story, and then immediately picking up the next one from the stack that I borrowed from the neighborhood library.

It’s interesting to think of how this past week has been one of “last” events that will lead to “the end” to my college career.

And preparing for that “end” has been fascinating and exciting to see how God will use my future for His glory! May His will be done.

This past week, I had another interview.

And yes, I did wear jeans to my interview! Call me crazy, but when the work environment is casual and your interviewer says you’re welcome to come in as the same, I’m not going to say no. : )

Later this week, I finished my classes for the year! To celebrate, I got some peach black tea with boba and enjoyed the lovely warm (or perhaps a bit stifling) weather that’s been staying out its welcome for the past few days.

How wonderful and exciting is the unknown when we have certainty in Someone greater! 😀

Let’s see how the next few months go!

But before then, finals and graduation await!

Have a lovely, lovely day!

Hello everyone! Today I will be deconstructing a layered outfit that transitions pieces from winter to spring! I enjoyed tinkering with iMovie, and I hope you find this useful! 🙂 Feel free to let me know your thoughts on the layering and how you do it too!
