How To Shop Smart I Spring Edition

fashionspace

Hello everyone!

Springtime inspired me to purge my closet (I’ll be sharing more about that in a future post) to make more room. And guess what? I could fling open the closet door and experience a breeze of fresh air wafting out, and all without a mountain of fabric avalanching on my face. Okay, that’s a little exaggerated, but you get the gist!

And with that extra room, I wanted to do a bit of smart shopping to start off 2015, which is pretty much the following formula: shopping affordably + appropriately to the season. 599fashion wanted to help me reach my goal, and so I’m here to share with you a few items they sent over! I love how they offer so many options for clothing, accessories, lifestyle, etc… AND did you know they boast an extended line to include items for men+women+children – any creative last minute ideas for Mother’s or Father’s day, anyone? ;).

Let me show you my little haul with 599fashion.com! I’ll leave you a rundown of the details (shipping, thoughts on quality, etc) after the images. Let me know your thoughts!

Spontaneous Splurges – College Edition

fashionspace, snapshotspace

I know, I’m not in college anymore.

But I still go perambulating about campus from time to time (mostly huffing and puffing as I try to “run” and “exercise’ to be healthy).

Today, I decided to look at several vendors who brought their wares to the street, and got started talking to one jewelry vendor who makes rings by hand and sells them on the street and on sites like Etsy. They seem quite simple to make and thus weren’t too expensive, so I started perusing the options.

The sun was bright and bathed the streets with warm light, many people were walking about as cars drove up and down and all around like ants about an anthill. And I found two rings I liked! I usually don’t purchase from street vendors (usually am hustling home), but I enjoyed the spontaneity of today.

Here they are! I like the simplicity. Paired with the cheerful red nail color, the rings seem to add a little something. (Forever 21’s “Rose” $2.80)

Which reminds me – I borrowed this nail polish from my sister and need to return it soon, hehe.

Have a lovely rest of your day!

[fashionspace] what is the meaning of business casual?

If I were to pass by you on the street today, I feel as though I would tip my hat (if I wore one, which I rarely do) and say, “A lovely day to you!” But… in reality, this probably wouldn’t happen as it is admittedly a smidgen strange. But the thought is quite intriguing!

I had an interview the other day, and thought I would remind myself (and show you by consequence) how it was by remembering what I wore. Does that happen to any of you? That you remember certain events by the clothes that you wore that day? Maybe it’s just me. But I’m pretty sure there are some of you out there, too! Kindred spirits in that regard, I’d like to think. ^^

So… this is what I wore!

What I wore:

Beaten converse?! To an interview??

Am I crazy?!

Yes.

Just kidding! I brought nicer shoes in my purse to change into right before the interview. Sure, I might have gotten a few strange glances and double-takes when I walked through the streets with business casual attire and sneakers, but hey, comfort trumps this round! : )

I’ve started this post with a breathtaking scenic view by the bay. Enjoy, and have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Jessica

P.S. Please don’t wear beaten up Converse to your interviews… just a tip from little old me ; )
