Have a lovely holiday, remembering what it took to get our independence 🙂
Hello again, lovely people!
Today I’m showcasing a few favorites that just joined #teamjess, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
It was a fairly hot day (for me, at least) and I felt like going out to a yummy lunch of fish tacos (AKA Rubio’s).
1.) I needed to wear something light enough so I wouldn’t melt into a puddle.
2.) I needed to wear something heavy enough so I wouldn’t freeze inside air conditioned buildings (something I am VERY thankful for!)
And this is what popped out at me!
(get it? because like… poppy print… popped out…? hehe)
I feel like I should go into the corny/punny making business sometime. Any suggestions? 😛
I paired this plain white tee with a golden “bar” necklace from Nordstrom – it wasn’t even on sale, but it was such a steal at $10!
It makes my heart a little happier when I see something completely affordable that looks like it is worth a lot more.
Do you get what I mean?
The bright orange-red poppy print spoke to me while I was shopping in Paris, and they said,
“We’re yours! And on sale! And fit (well, a little big, but nothing adding belt loops can’t fix!)!”
And they won. Woot!
And to top off the whole look, I wore these AMAZING ZARA CUTOUT HEELS.
I’ve been wanting these heels for months now, ever since I saw them in store (in blue, but that’s less of a universal color, you know?).
And I admit, I would dream up outfits to wear them with, but didn’t ever purchase these beauties.
And then someone amazing did! 😀
And here they are on my feet 🙂
This H&M purse I revealed in a recent haul so simple yet classic!
I love the shape.
And another shot of the shoes because I adore.
Like them sunnies from Betsy Johnson? So good for sun protection, and on a steep discount from TJMaxx!
And if you have a few extra moments to join me for a dance party, I just uploaded a Taylor Swift “Shake It Off” inspired tutorial!
Adios, and until next time!
It’s been a while since the last [stylespace] post, and I am thrilled to be able to share this one with you!
It reminds me of… a chic western persona with a penchant for dark, moody colors.
Although come to think of it, I have never conjured up that kind of character before. In my life.
So here is an eclectic outfit, just for you!
As you can see, the makeup was simple so as to not detract attention from the outfit. There is a little video coming up for it (at some point) in the future, so stay tuned! : )
I paired the casual chambray top (sleeves folded for a more relaxed, jaunty feel) and kept it simple with burgundy jeans.
Add some pizzazz with some leopard flats (a wardrobe staple for me!) and I’m out the door!
I hope you enjoyed, and have a lovely day in the Lord!
Song of the day: “Just A Dream” covered by Sam Tsui X Christina Grimmie
Although a rich burgundy is a favorite of mine any day, with spring coming and a whole lot of color with it, a more cheerful red was called for. Wow, that was a long sentence. And I’m not sure it was grammatically correct.
But I digress.
Don’t you love the vibrancy of such a bold color? I used to think I couldn’t pull it off – especially when my nails grew longer (I thought they looked like claws on a carnivorous animal). But I make sure to cut my nails before applying a color such as this one, and it seems to lower the creature-like quality that somehow imprinted on my mind (hehe, do you get it?).
Lesson of the day: don’t be afraid to try new colors! There are certain colors that do work better on certain skin tones, but so many shades exist to match everyone out there. This shade in particular is a Forever21 nail polish with a Seche Vite topcoat (the BEST!) – a combo that never fails to make my nail-heart go pitter patter – just like the rain outside!
Have a bright, joyful day in the Lord and stay warm!
It’s raining cats, dogs, and horses today – but that indeed is still a blessing from the Lord. Even if it does sound like a stampede is snorting and galloping full speed, crashing and pawing at your office building.
Hopefully, it’s not too bad where you are!
And maybe, it might be worse. So let’s just all be thankful for rain/snow/ice/hail/sun/whatever it may be!
And to temporarily distract you from the weather, here are some easy DIY wedding card ideas – decoration that is fun to do and more thoughtful than simply purchasing a Hallmark card (although that’s not a bad idea, just ten times more expensive).
[Step 1] Purchase blank cards!
I got mine from Michael’s, and loved that these already had the bunting pattern cut out on the front. It looks so chic, and is simple to personalize to the recipient!
[Step 2] Grab a pen!
Preferably a dark one that won’t bleed too much.
[Step 3] Get those creative juices flowing and GO GO GO!
ex. 1 – “love”
What can this be?
A heart, and then “l-o”?
And then the message gets clearer!
Until wow, I get it! LOVE!
On the inside, I wrote Genesis 2:18 on the left side, with a personal letter on the right.
ex.2 – “hello”
And have fun with how you write everything!
I may not be the best at writing, but I put my best effort in, and hopefully they’ll like it.
If not, the gift should make up for it ; )
I hope this gave you some ideas, and have a fun time creating lovely message of encouragement and love – to whomever it may be!
The spontaneous ones seem to be more remembered than others, in my humble opinion. Thoughts?
Have a lovely day in the Lord!
In light of Valentine’s Day, here are a few “loves” of mine…
in the more light-hearted, superficial sense of the word-
so maybe I should revise that and say
“here are a few things i really like”
Let’s just begin, yes?
1.) Mortar and pestle.
My mom used this a lot – to crush seeds and create various mixtures. I grew up hitting the pestle and enjoying it immensely. Now, I think I like it so much because of its use.
Funny, growing up.
It changes a person.
One of the many reasons Christmas is by far my favorite holiday. The bright, cheery lights that glitter and shine through the night (albeit causing more light pollution and using electricity) make my heart go aflutter and remind me of the Light of the world.
3.) This color scheme.
I adore citrus. And the striking colors contrast even more so with the gorgeous, natural greens shown in the image. Juxtapose that with the concrete-looking background, and I’m sold.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I am a very punny person. Word play is such fun and I don’t mind the various eye-rolls it gets me sometimes. It’s worth it. I’ll keep cooking up some more and serve them as they come along!
Reading is by far my favorite past-times. Be it fiction or nonfiction, it does something that watching TV or playing video games (or writing a blog post) cannot do.
I love it and am thankful for this love of reading.
Also, loving this decor.
What are some of your loves?
Have a wonderful day!
