[stylespace] Retro Repeat OOTD

Hello, hello!

So today, I’m featuring the Zara laser cutout heels that I’ve been showing for the past few posts, haha.

I thrifted the patterned sweatshirt (What’s the pattern called? Not houndstooth, but something similar…) and…

I wanted something not too crazy to clash with the top today, so I paired it with this statement necklace from Windsor.

The gleam from the stones adds some visual interest, but the fact that it’s in the same color palette as the sweatshirt helps it hang as a subtle piece.

To keep this office-friendly, I paired it with a black pencil skirt from J. Crew (thrifted!) and the heels! 🙂

The pattern makes me so dizzy but deliriously happy inside, haha. I love the coziness of the knit, but do y’all understand when your accessory/a sharp corner of a desk gets caught in the yarn and unravels a part of it? Merp.

A closeup from head…

To toe!

All ten of them, in fact. 😀

Have a lovely day!

[stylespace] My Poppy Paradise

Hello again, lovely people!

Today I’m showcasing a few favorites that just joined #teamjess, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

It was a fairly hot day (for me, at least) and I felt like going out to a yummy lunch of fish tacos (AKA Rubio’s).

Which means…

1.) I needed to wear something light enough so I wouldn’t melt into a puddle.

2.) I needed to wear something heavy enough so I wouldn’t freeze inside air conditioned buildings (something I am VERY thankful for!)

And this is what popped out at me!

(get it? because like… poppy print… popped out…? hehe)

I feel like I should go into the corny/punny making business sometime. Any suggestions? 😛

I paired this plain white tee with a golden “bar” necklace from Nordstrom – it wasn’t even on sale, but it was such a steal at $10!

It makes my heart a little happier when I see something completely affordable that looks like it is worth a lot more.

Do you get what I mean?

The bright orange-red poppy print spoke to me while I was shopping in Paris, and they said,

“We’re yours! And on sale! And fit (well, a little big, but nothing adding belt loops can’t fix!)!”

And they won. Woot!

And to top off the whole look, I wore these AMAZING ZARA CUTOUT HEELS.

I’ve been wanting these heels for months now, ever since I saw them in store (in blue, but that’s less of a universal color, you know?).

And I admit, I would dream up outfits to wear them with, but didn’t ever purchase these beauties.

And then someone amazing did! 😀

And here they are on my feet 🙂

This H&M purse I revealed in a recent haul so simple yet classic!

I love the shape.

And another shot of the shoes because I adore.

Like them sunnies from Betsy Johnson? So good for sun protection, and on a steep discount from TJMaxx!

And if you have a few extra moments to join me for a dance party, I just uploaded a Taylor Swift “Shake It Off” inspired tutorial!

Adios, and until next time!

[snapshotspace] Nail Painting Time – Triple Threat Edition!

Happy Tuesday!

A little while ago, I got to spend some good quality NPT (“nail painting time”) with godly, wonderful women!

Quite an ideal combination of fun and fellowship, I feel 🙂

So without further ado, here is a peek at all the shenanigans that went on that afternoon!

Design Overview:

Left: An individual chevron-esque design outlined with black to make it pop more to the eye. I  wish I could have practiced more before attempting the look. But I’m thankful for a gracious friend who appreciated it nonetheless (I hope, hehe).

Middle: Essie’s “Sand Tropez” and “Mint Candy Apple” layered with Essie’s “Show Me The Ring” to add pearly dimension.

Right: Yellow nail polish with a French tip created using a gold marker, protected with a top coat.

T’was a lovely afternoon, and I hope to be able to repeat it sometime again!

[stylespace] whimsical wednesday and hearts hearts hearts

Long time no post, dear reader!

It has been several weeks since I got back from Chile, and so now I’m getting back into the swing of things. Thanks for joining me!

And to start off, I thought I would begin with a nostalgic memory of my (what I think of as) gorgeous bleached hair…

Which honestly would not have been a memory if I had remembered to post these images a few months ago, but I digress!

‘Tis life, and let’s just cut to the chase.

(hehe get it? “Cut” because… I chopped off my hair in this post? No? Okay, let’s continue.)

How are you today? 🙂

Below is a snapshot…

Aren’t the curls glorious? It makes me want my hair to grow out faster, so I can create more hair tutorials and tweak around.

Gah. I can’t get over it.

And I miss it.

Anywhoo, I paired this Madewell granny sweater with a Pandora necklace gifted to me by my mom for Christmas! I really like the simplicity of the stones (which look either clear or a blush pink, depending on the light) and the design – classic is always a nice way to go!

And to continue the silver theme, I threw on a silver heart ring that’s chunky enough to add interest, and happens to match the heart I drew on my ring finger.

Which happens to match the heart of the Pandora necklace.

Ooh la la!

And to add onto the cozy feels of the outfit, I threw on the comfiest polka dotted jeans in the world, provided a la Target!

Love, love, love.

Oh, and if you want to spend a few extra minutes with me,  I filmed a haul showing a few Sephora products  and clothing items I picked up in the last few months (two pieces I purchased from Santiago, Chile)! You can just click the image below and it’ll open the page right up – maybe I’ll see you there!

Happy Wednesday! 🙂

[inspirespace] #MANICureMondays Dabbling

It’s a Monday and…

I have a confession to make.

My nails don’t appreciate it very much when I constantly put on polish. There, I said it! Sometimes it feels like they’re restricted and can’t breathe, which is probably a sign that it’s no bueno to do it all the time.

And this week, I decided to take a break! And post some lovely inspiration from Pinterest to spread the creativity!

So here we go! (credit/links to the site found by clicking the reference image)

1.) “Owl always love you”

I always love me some sparkle, and to combine it with some forest love – well, that is some mighty cute happenings!

2.) “One in a Minion.”

You can’t possibly say no to these nails, especially not after watching Despicable Me 2! ❤

3.) “Oldy but goldy”

This is similar to my first #MANICureMondays, but the slim line, rather than the complete tip, caught my eye. The accent nail is lovely!

4.) “Patterns, Patterns, Everywhere!”

If only I had a steadier hand… but I can appreciate it!

I hope you had a lovely day, and have a great week!

[inspirespace] #MANICure Mondays – Red is the New Black

Although a rich burgundy is a favorite of mine any day, with spring coming and a whole lot of color with it, a more cheerful red was called for. Wow, that was a long sentence. And I’m not sure it was grammatically correct.

But I digress.

Don’t you love the vibrancy of such a bold color? I used to think I couldn’t pull it off – especially when my nails grew longer (I thought they looked like claws on a carnivorous animal). But I make sure to cut my nails before applying a color such as this one, and it seems to lower the creature-like quality that somehow imprinted on my mind (hehe, do you get it?).

Lesson of the day: don’t be afraid to try new colors! There are certain colors that do work better on certain skin tones, but so many shades exist to match everyone out there. This  shade in particular is a Forever21 nail polish with a Seche Vite topcoat (the BEST!) – a combo that never fails to make my nail-heart go pitter patter – just like the rain outside!

Have a bright, joyful day in the Lord and stay warm!

[inspirespace] #MANICureMondays Tribal Edition

Hello, there!

Why, and a happy Monday to you!

I hope the cheerful sunniness in the snapshot brought some warmth to your day and a smile to your face : )

This is the second post in my blog series #MANICureMondays – and I bring you… the tribal edition! This is a geometric pattern that was quite simple to do, and it looks like more work went into it than it actually did.

Which, by the way, is a win.

In my book at least ; ).

I felt like combining spring (the tiffany blue by “Essie”) and fall (OPI’s dark-purple-bordering-on-black “Linkin Park at Midnight” I believe). Why? I wanted to do something bright, but I saw a friend’s maroon nails and was reminded why I really like that color, hehe. Inspiration all around! And as always, I love the color gold and so incorporated that metal to cover up any bleary edges between the blue and purple.

Don’t you adore the contrast?

I know I enjoy it!

And I hope it inspires you!

Have a lovely day in the Lord!
