How To Shop Smart I Spring Edition

Hello everyone!

Springtime inspired me to purge my closet (I’ll be sharing more about that in a future post) to make more room. And guess what? I could fling open the closet door and experience a breeze of fresh air wafting out, and all without a mountain of fabric avalanching on my face. Okay, that’s a little exaggerated, but you get the gist!

And with that extra room, I wanted to do a bit of smart shopping to start off 2015, which is pretty much the following formula: shopping affordably + appropriately to the season. 599fashion wanted to help me reach my goal, and so I’m here to share with you a few items they sent over! SHIPPING: fast! arrived just a few days after placing the order

SERVICE: easy, and very responsive. i even received an e-mail update regarding where the package was!

SET: the amount of items offered on 599fashion.com is immense! i love that there are so many styles that are catered to, and the price point (everything $5.99 or less

AVAILABILITY (sorry, no more alliteration): things go pretty quickly due to the low price points, so the exact items that even I’m showing you may not be on the website anymore. however, there are so many products loaded, which means similar things are sure to be discovered. how you go about that is up to you! it’s the ultimate scavenger hunt 🙂

[inspirespace] MANICureMondays

So, this was actually posted on my instagram on Monday, and I was going to start a series called #MANICureMondays.

You know, like the song  “Manic Mondays” by The Bangles?

And I found it perfectly fit with “Manicure”… Neat, huh?

I thought so, too.

So, I decided to do this as a consistent string of posts, you know.

Only, it didn’t even end up being posted until today. Which is two days too late.

But you know, better to start than not start at all! So here goes: I hope you enjoyed this snapshot!  : )

Don’t you love the gold tips?? I usually stick with white because it’s classic, but because the metal is such a rich color… I decided, why not? The look is still neutral and so it all matches whatever clothes you throw on! AND it makes your outfit look so much more put together, because you have colored chemicals placed strategically on your fingertips.

So… if you haven’t noticed lately (as in, the past two days), I’ve begun exploring Polyvore – and it’s been a blast! It’s so fun for me to style little things together, and the site is like the ultimate closet I will never know (and am happy to never know, because then I’d really never know what to wear). Sometimes, too much of a good thing is… not so bueno, capiche?

Today’s inspiration started out with a navy dress and the neutral accents. Which to me at the time looked gold.

And so I built this entire set based on that lovely idea.

And then I published the set…

Only to discover as I write this post that the delicate collar and thin belt are actually neutrals, not gold.

That’s how things seem to roll a lot of the times in my life.

Figures. : )

[stylespace] NYE edition

Hello there, reader!

Or, should I say, Happy belated New Year! Although if you think about it, it’s still pretty new and so I think I can wish you a Happy belated New Year without any qualms!

As 2013 has bidden us adieu and 2014 called on us (whether we wanted it to or not), the new year fills me with excitement at what has been planned for me by the Author of all things! : )

  

With the weather not being freezing cold, these striped tights paired with the stiletto heels per the last post makes this juuuuust right.

 

Staying classy with nowhere to go. Maybe a good book and some tea? My kind of New Year’s celebration.

I really enjoy wearing this coat! Can you tell?

 

The thick… substantial knit made me swoon a little inside, as did the lovely pattern! Rolling up the sleeves revealed a new pattern and seemed to add more texture – never can have enough! ; )

The patterned skirt is oh so comfortable, and the quilted appearance made a complementary addition to the coat. By the way, if you want to pick one up, this skirt is now on clearance at Target for $8.99, I believe! I bought it for… more. Which made me cry inside just a little bit when I saw the new price tag. But now you can get your hands on it for less! Maybe pick one up for a friend. ^^
