#PassportToParis OOTD & Travel Edition

Hello everyone, and happy Friday!

So today, I decided to take the #fbf route because this OOTD was supposed to get posted a little while ago.

A little while ago meaning…. several months ago.

Time sure seems to fly, and so did I… to Paris this past year!

So let’s get started, shall we? 🙂

A little ways away from Notre Dame (and an awesome stand that offers nutella crepes, SO good!).

And this spot?

It just seemed like a really, really nice place to read.

I wish I could have plopped myself down where that person was sitting and relax for a sunny afternoon by the water, leaning against that lone lamppost.

With a hot cup of tea.

Ahh yes, it’s definitely fall today.

We went walking this-a-way and that-a-way and found numerous lovely places for photoshoots! Too bad my luggage had been lost, which led to…

dressing myself with my mom’s clothes,

dressing myself with my sister’s clothes,

doing makeup using my mom’s small arsenal,

and… shopping!

  The lightweight maxi dress with the jungle green print was something I picked up the first day in Paris, and I wore that piece like crazy!

Paired it with the Love Culture hat I thankfully did not put in my luggage and the H&M purse that stayed with me the entire time as well 🙂

Such enchanting views, I loved seeing all the beautiful things in that city!

Lots of amusing events happened here as well, but that can be saved for another time.

Let’s get one last look at the outfit, shall we?

A light and refreshing outfit that allowed me to carry all my essentials for a day of exploring in the city of love!

So it was my birthday back in the summertime, and I thought I would share a few pics from that lovely day with my family!

We went to the beach (I love the beach!) and walked around…

Yay! Love the simple contrast of white + anything else…

AND COTTON CANDY!

Oh, the good times of that day. And you get a little peek of the outfit!

There we go! I wore a white tee + mint skirt + accented pattern/color block sandal.

SO comfy.

Isn’t the “more to sea” so punny?

Totally up my alley.

Scouted out random pretty areas as well.

You know, to burn off the sugar from all that cotton caaaaaandy 😀

[stylespace] My Poppy Paradise

 

Hello again, lovely people!

Today I’m showcasing a few favorites that just joined #teamjess, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

It was a fairly hot day (for me, at least) and I felt like going out to a yummy lunch of fish tacos (AKA Rubio’s).

Which means…

1.) I needed to wear something light enough so I wouldn’t melt into a puddle.

2.) I needed to wear something heavy enough so I wouldn’t freeze inside air conditioned buildings (something I am VERY thankful for!)

And this is what popped out at me!

(get it? because like… poppy print… popped out…? hehe)

I feel like I should go into the corny/punny making business sometime. Any suggestions? 😛

I paired this plain white tee with a golden “bar” necklace from Nordstrom – it wasn’t even on sale, but it was such a steal at $10!

It makes my heart a little happier when I see something completely affordable that looks like it is worth a lot more.

Do you get what I mean?

The bright orange-red poppy print spoke to me while I was shopping in Paris, and they said,

“We’re yours! And on sale! And fit (well, a little big, but nothing adding belt loops can’t fix!)!”

And they won. Woot!

And to top off the whole look, I wore these AMAZING ZARA CUTOUT HEELS.

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

MRARRRRRR.

I’ve been wanting these heels for months now, ever since I saw them in store (in blue, but that’s less of a universal color, you know?).

And I admit, I would dream up outfits to wear them with, but didn’t ever purchase these beauties.

And then someone amazing did! 😀

And here they are on my feet 🙂

This H&M purse I revealed in a recent haul so simple yet classic!

I love the shape.

And another shot of the shoes because I adore.

Like them sunnies from Betsy Johnson? So good for sun protection, and on a steep discount from TJMaxx!

[snapshotspace] Hello, Baby! OOTD

Oh, hello again!

It’s going to be a little twist here on #helloblackbird in that we’re going to be featuring a BOY today!

Well, at the time this was taken, he wasn’t born yet, but we all were boy-oh-boy excited 🙂

So… if you didn’t gather in the last few sentences, I had the lovely privilege of attending a baby shower, and we all know how I can be a liiiiiiiitttle behind regarding the time frame between taking photos and posting them here!

<cough> He is born and thriving and handsome! </cough>

Nevertheless, here is a brief snapshot of my OOTD, with a cameo from a magical unicorn from that one movie. The one that was really funny. And cute.

The statement necklace is from Windsor, and the classic navy shade has brought a lot of attention from passerby when I wear it! I love how it’s large and in charge, but at the same time doesn’t have to be bright neon or crazy huge to declare its presence. (Not that I don’t like those pieces. It just worked out this way for this outfit!)

The top is from Target, and I LOVE the cat print on this knit piece. It’s quirky and fun, and oh so comfortable! If you know me, you know that’s how I roll 🙂

Loving these navy shorts from Francesca’s! That store is pretty much my dream store. If I could create a boutique, I feel like I would just copy/paste that beautiful place with all the clever accessories and nicknacks over to my site, heh. Don’t you love the lace detailing on the pockets? I know that it’s pretty simple to add on yourself, so I could have just done it to a pair I owned, but nobody’s got time for that! That being going to the fabric store to pick out the specific lace, sewing, and figuring out how to use the rest of the lace.

Actually…

Hmmm………….

I digress.

 One of the activities we had was decorating stick-on bow ties/neck ties so that when he reaches that length of life (one month, two months, three months, etc), it’s easy to snap a photo and know exactly how old he is!

Brilliant.

The photobooth that was so meticulously set up by an amazing woman I am blessed to know.

[stylespace] One Day My Prints Will Come…

And they came!

Hehe oh, hello there!

So over the summer, I introduced  a few items to my wardrobe – and one of the stars of the new additions are these printed pants from Zara!

It’s shopping vicariously… through me! 🙂

 And without further ado, here are the pants!

These are super simple to style, and I love the elaborate print combined with muted colors that make it a breeze to coordinate.

On top I have my favorite statement necklace EVER. Seriously. Ever.

MRAHHH I love.

Paired it with a plain white tee from H&M and a thrifted mustard yellow cardigan!

On nails: Essie’s “show me the ring” – the champagne/frosty finish is a lovely complement to the ensemble, don’t you think?

The pants came with the belt, which (obviously) matches quite well. I love how casual the outfit can be by simply switching the pants for jeans, or dressed up by switching the pants for a pencil skirt!

BEAUTIFUL.

And here I present to you the wilted hydrangea that I could have placed the necklace on for your viewing pleasure ;).

Exhibit A: I thought the dotted pattern would make a cool backdrop, but didn’t consider that I was too short to make it all the way up there, heh.

Did You Know? Sitting on bricks is quite… comfortable…

And makes for a thankful heart when there are comfy chairs to sink into later!

[stylespace] The Tribal Cardigan Makes a Comeback!

Hello there!

It’s a lovely Tuesday and I wanted to share a new way to work with the tribal cardigan I featured here!

It was such a beautiful day, perfect to break out my summer uniform of a white tee and jeans. 🙂

If you didn’t know, I’ve been absolutely adoring this statement necklace!

It’s “The One” if there ever was one for statement pieces, and so many people (friends and strangers alike)  on the street have told me they love it as well!

Kinda cool, kinda throws you off when you walk down the street not expecting to be stopped haha.

Mostly cool though. 🙂

Love love love the brown boots as well!

They’re so versatile, and I’ve been wearing them around aaaaall weekend.

[stylespace] whimsical wednesday and hearts hearts hearts

Long time no post, dear reader!

It has been several weeks since I got back from Chile, and so now I’m getting back into the swing of things. Thanks for joining me!

And to start off, I thought I would begin with a nostalgic memory of my (what I think of as) gorgeous bleached hair…

Which honestly would not have been a memory if I had remembered to post these images a few months ago, but I digress!

‘Tis life, and let’s just cut to the chase.

(hehe get it? “Cut” because… I chopped off my hair in this post? No? Okay, let’s continue.)

How are you today? 🙂

Below is a snapshot…

 Aren’t the curls glorious? It makes me want my hair to grow out faster, so I can create more hair tutorials and tweak around.

Gah. I can’t get over it.

And I miss it.

Anywhoo, I paired this Madewell granny sweater with a Pandora necklace gifted to me by my mom for Christmas! I really like the simplicity of the stones (which look either clear or a blush pink, depending on the light) and the design – classic is always a nice way to go!

 

 And to continue the silver theme, I threw on a silver heart ring that’s chunky enough to add interest, and happens to match the heart I drew on my ring finger.

Which happens to match the heart of the Pandora necklace.

Ooh la la!

And to add onto the cozy feels of the outfit, I threw on the comfiest polka dotted jeans in the world, provided a la Target!

Love, love, love.
